Vacation Care

Vacation care runs during the school holidays and on pupil free days. We offer a fun and exciting program including excursions, special visitors, crafts, sports, cooking and, of course, lots of time for free play and making new friends.

IMPORTANT Dates & Changes to the Booking Policies & Procedures:

   The Vacation Care Program will be available on the website from Week 5.

   Booking Forms can be submitted during week 7: Monday 3 September 2018 – 7 September 2018. Cut-off date for first round bookings is 7 September 2018.

   Places are allocated according to the Priority of Access Guidelines and the the order in which forms were received.

   All places booked & confirmed during week 7 are final & any changes will be charged as an absence, unless a Dr Certificate is supplied.

   Vacation Care Statements will be emailed to families in Week 8.

   Full payment of vacation care bookings must be received by COB 21 September 2018. If payment has not been received by this date your place may be offered to families on the waiting list.

The Daily Fee is $55 per day plus incursion/excursions costs.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • All families who wish to attend this Vacation Care Period must be enrolled for 2018.
  • The Vacation Care Booking Form must be completed in full & returned to the centre via email. Do NOT use the QK Enrol Family Lounge system to lodge a waitlist/Vac Care Booking, this system does not meet our services needs. 
  • Closing date for first round offers is Friday 7 September 2018.
  • No CHANGES to bookings are permitted after Friday 7 September 2018 without penalty, unless a Dr's Certificate is provided.

VACATION CARE PROGRAM INFORMATION:

  • The Centre is licensed to operate during school holidays from 7am – 6pm
  • Vacation Care Bookings will not be accepted from families with fees in arrears.
  • Children enrolled for kindergarten in 2019 may apply for the January portion of the program.
  • Educator to child ratio is: For in Centre days – 1 Educator: 15 children, For excursions – 1 Educator: 8 children.
  •  Children may play their electronic devices between 7am and 8:30am and 5pm and 6pm only (except on electronic games days). They must NOT bring chargers and will only be permitted to use G rated games. Wi-fi is to be switched off. Educators are not responsible for lost or broken toys/games.
  • Please pack a HEALTHY lunch, morning and afternoon tea, we encourage you to pack some extra snacks as we have found children are running out of food during the day. PLEASE REMEMBER WE ARE A NUT & EGG FREE SERVICE.

Bookings 

You can book as few or as many days as you like. Bookings are accepted according to the Centre's Enrolment & Orientation Policy and then order in which the forms are received.

To use our vacation care service you first need to be enrolled at the Centre.  Please see the Enrolment & Forms tab for enrolment information.

After the booking cut off date (as indicated on the information sheet) all booked days must be paid for unless a doctor’s certificate is provided.

Who can come?

We offer care to children 4.5 -12 years of age who are currently enrolled to attend school. Children do not have to attend before or after school care, or Gymea Bay Public school, to use our vacation care service.

Children who are enrolled in school to commence kindergarten in 2019 may attend vacation care in January 2019.

Hours of operation

Vacation care runs during the school holidays and pupil free days. The centre closes for 2 weeks only each year over the Christmas, New Year break.

We are licensed to operate from 7am-6pm. 

Fees

$55 per day (less child care subsidy) plus extra charges for excursions or special visitor as indicated on the program.

All Vacation Care bookings must be paid prior to the start of the vacation care period, payment date will be indicated on the program. Invoices will be emailed accordingly. All term fees must be paid in full before bookings are accepted.

Meals

The centre provides breakfast (a selection of cereals, toast and spreads) from 7am-9.00am. 

During Vacation Care children are required to bring with them a healthy packed lunch, morning & afternoon tea snack plus a drink bottle. Refrigeration can be provided if necessary. NO PRODUCTS CONTAINING NUTS OR EGGS PLEASE.

Clothing

Children are to ensure they are wearing comfortable clothing, closed in shoes (no thongs) and to always bring a hat. Please label all clothing.
